Abstract

 

Dust Control issues have been addressed throughout the tissue industry for many years and as machine speed increases and moisture content of the sheet decreases, dust will be a key focus for years to come. Sheet quality has become an important issue within the industry as new products are entering the market. The new buzz word is “Sheet Hygiene” which directly relates to dust contamination of the final end product being sold to the consumer.

Tissue World 2010 Abstract

​

Dust Control has become a major issue within the United States due to the new NFPA, OSHA and Factory Mutual emphasis on dust accumulation within tissue manufacturing facilities. Good dust extraction can provide the basis for compliance with required regulations, as well as providing a clean working environment for the operators and good sheet hygiene.

Tissue World 2011 Abstract
​

During Tissue World Conferences in 2009 and 2010 we discussed dust extraction and sheet hygiene on high speed tissue machines and converting equipment respectively. This paper will discuss new designs applied to both the modification of existing dust extraction systems and new systems which can enable increased production on tissue machines and converting equipment.
